PEPINO- A heart shaped fruit which is actually part of the “Nightshade” family, which includes peppers and tomatoes. The fruit has purple patches on its skin, and a sweet yellow flesh. It is grown in California and New Zealand. Choose sweet smelling fruit that is soft to finger pressure. Avoid green colored fruit.
